Many people have been asking about the crop bra seen on one of my baby cockatiels. Anyone who has bred tiels before knows that they are prone to overeating, they will keep begging in the most pitying way even when stuffed full. This can lead to a stretched crop, resulting in a slow or sour crop that usually leads to the end for the baby. This crop bra fixes a stretched crop in a week or two, allowing the crop to work as normal pushing food into the stomach. It is simply a piece of vet wrap (slightly self adhesive stretchy crepe-paper like rubbery wrap) cut into the shape of an H to fit over the wings. Secured snugly over the crop, past the wings and over the back, it keeps the stretched or possibly stretched crop in proper position for emptying. Easy to do, cheap to implement, something that is a good idea to keep on hand if you plan on handfeeding some baby tiels.
